Terms of Service

The agreement between you and us. The most important parts are in the first two sections, and they are the ones people skip.

What LockBetting is — and is not

LockBetting publishes sports betting opinions, analysis and a record of past results. That is all it is. Specifically:

  • It is not financial or investment advice. We are not licensed financial advisers and nothing here is a personal recommendation. Do not treat a pick as advice about your money.
  • It is not a guarantee.No pick is certain. Past results, including everything on our Monthly P&L page, do not predict future results. You can follow every pick we publish and still lose money.
  • We do not take bets or handle stakes. We are not a bookmaker, a sportsbook, or a gambling operator. Any bet you place is between you and whoever accepts it.
  • Every betting decision is yours. You are responsible for what you stake and for any losses. Only ever stake what you can afford to lose.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to bet legally where you live — in much of the United States that is 21. Sports betting is not legal everywhere, and it is your responsibility to know the law where you are. By using LockBetting you confirm you meet these conditions.

Your account

We sign you in with a one-time link sent to your email address, so keep control of that mailbox — anyone who can read it can get into your account. Give us accurate details and keep them current. You can edit or delete your account at any time from your account page or the Settings tab of the app.

Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown when you subscribe — monthly or annually — until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time, in two clicks, from your account page. No phone call, no email, no retention conversation.
  • Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Payments are taken by Stripe. Prices are shown before you confirm, and any applicable tax is shown at checkout.
  • If a payment fails, access to paid picks pauses until it succeeds. It resumes automatically once it does.

If we change the price of a subscription you already hold, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.

Refunds

Because the picks are delivered immediately and cannot be un-read, we do not generally refund a period that has already started. If something has gone wrong — you were charged after cancelling, charged twice, or could not access what you paid for — email support@lockbetting.com and we will put it right. Nothing here removes any refund right you have under the law where you live.

Behaviour in chat and comments

Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, hateful, or harassing; do not post other people's private information; do not spam or advertise; do not impersonate anyone; and do not upload images you do not have the right to share. We can remove content and suspend or ban accounts that break this, and we will do so without warning where the content is seriously harmful. You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to display it within the service.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. Picks are published when they are ready; we do not guarantee a number of picks in any period unless the tier you bought says so.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using LockBetting and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where we close a paid account that has not broken them, we will refund the unused part of the period.

Liability

We are responsible for losses we cause by breaking this agreement or by failing to use reasonable care, up to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem arose. We are not responsible for money you lose betting — that is the nature of betting, and it is the reason the first section of these terms says what it says. We do not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Apps downloaded from the App Store

This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app and is not responsible for it or for any claim you have about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement and may enforce it against you.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the state you live in.
