Privacy Policy

This explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how to get it back or have it erased. It is written to be read rather than to be impressive.

Who we are

LockBetting is operated by Billi Bhatti. We are responsible for the personal data described here.

The LockBetting app is distributed in the United States, and our systems are operated from the United States, which is where your personal data is stored and processed.

We do not use advertising trackers, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share your personal data for anyone else's marketing. We do not track your location.

Your card details

We never receive them. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and your card number goes from your browser to Stripe without passing through our systems. We receive only a customer reference, the subscription status, and the last four digits shown on your receipt. Stripe is a separate controller of the payment data it holds — see the Stripe privacy policy.

Who else sees your data

Only the following, and only for the purpose given. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

  • Stripe — payments and subscription billing. Receives your email address and name.
  • Expo, and through it Apple and Google— delivery of push notifications. Receives the notification and your device's push token, not your identity.
  • Resend — sends your sign-in links. Receives your email address.

We also post picks to Instagram and X through Buffer, and we show live scores from ESPN. Neither of those receives any personal data — the picks we publish are content, not information about you.

Why we use it

Each use above ties to a specific reason: running your account, subscription and access to picks; keeping payment records as tax and accounting law requires; sending push notifications, which you consent to when you enable them and can withdraw at any time in your device settings without losing anything else; and keeping the service secure and the chat moderated.

Your rights

You can exercise the first two yourself, right now, without asking us or waiting for us:

  • Get a copy of your data. Go to your account pageand choose “Download”. You get a JSON file containing everything we hold about you.
  • Delete your account. On the same page, or in the Settings tab of the app. This erases your profile, comments and messages, and cancels any active subscription so you are not charged again. It cannot be undone.

You also have the right to correct data that is wrong (you can edit your own details on the account page), to object to or restrict what we do with your data, and to ask us to send your data to another service. Write to privacy@lockbetting.com and we will reply within one month.

If you live in California, the same two buttons cover your rights to know, to access and to delete under the CCPA. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, so there is nothing for you to opt out of.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first at privacy@lockbetting.com. We will acknowledge your complaint and tell you the outcome. Depending on the state you live in, you may also have the right to complain to your state Attorney General or state privacy regulator.

Children

LockBetting is for adults. The service is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us at privacy@lockbetting.com and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
